Revitalize. Revive. Revolutionize.
Graffiti 2 Community Ministries seeks to Revitalize, Revive, and Revolutionize the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx and society by enabling individuals to develop physically, mentally (revitalization), emotionally, spiritually, and socially (revival) so that they may become servant-leaders within their families, community, and society (revolution).
Develop a community of revolutionized revolutionaries committed to the holistic development of the Mott Haven community and society while providing a place of training and personal development in the five holistic areas of growth.
Graffiti 2 Community Ministries is the realization of the dual vision of Andrew Mann and Dr. Taylor Field, the pastor and director of East 7th Baptist Church/Graffiti Community Ministries. Serving and empowering children, youth and adults on the Lower East Side of Manhattan for 20 years. East 7th Baptist Church/Graffiti Community Ministries seeks to provide basic assistance such as food, homeless advocacy, tutoring, mentoring, and job training while equipping individuals to become leaders in their community.
Graffiti Community Ministries believes that the simple mission of meeting the tangible needs of a community is replicable across all society. A prisoner in Sing Sing once observed that most of the prisoners came from five neighborhoods of New York City. These prisoners boarded a non-stop train as children that took them from their community to life behind bars. Upon his release, this prisoner wished to seek penance by becoming a train-stopper in these kid’s lives. Believing it is better to build a fence at the top of a cliff instead of a hospital at the bottom, it is the goal of Graffiti Community Ministries to become train-stoppers in each of these five difficult neighborhoods.
In February of 2005, the founder and director of Graffiti 2 Community Ministries arrived in New York to begin the formation of a new ministry organization in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx. Collaborating with the Garifuna Evangelical Church, Graffiti 2 has renovated and occupied space within their building since August 2005. Believing that grass-root support must be developed in the neighborhood, Graffiti 2’s focus is centered upon children and families.
Graffiti 2 Community Ministries is located in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx in New York City. Originally the plantation home of Gouverneur Morris (penman of the preamble to the Constitution), Mott Haven has become notorious for the difficult urban situations which are faced daily by its residents.
Statistics identify a high density of children who
- Fail to meet education standards
- Live in single-parent households
- Lack adequate nutrition and healthcare
- Reside in a neighborhood riddled with crime.

With God’s power and vision, Graffiti 2 is praying for revolution in the Mott Haven community.
